Sgt Reckless - Korean War Horse Hero

3/19/2012

I had never heard of Sgt Reckless until a few weeks ago when a friend kindly emailed me the YouTube video about her life.  Sgt Reckless, a small, 5 year old Mongolian mare, was purchased by the US military for $250 from a Korean racetrack, to serve in the war.  In one battle, this mare made 51 trips to firing sites ON HER OWN, and was wounded twice in the process.  In the 1990s Time Magazine honored Reckless by naming her one of the 100 all time greatest heroes.  This mare was a REAL war horse hero.  Please take a moment to learn more about Reckless and the effort to build a memorial in her honor, by watching this short 3 minute video and visiting her website
http://www.sgtreckless.com/Reckless/Welcome.html  Thank you Reckless for your military service and bravery!
